This is one organization, if you are writing children’s books, that you should join. The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators is the largest organization for authors and illustrators… a wealth of information and networking contacts, regional and international conferences, informational publications and awards. They provided me with the booklet of all publishers and their criteria for submissions, which was invaluable. This is a great place to start your venture…After joining SCBWI, I moved on to finding a good lawyer… not fun… not fun at all. More on this to come…
